Market Day 13th May

May 13, 2015 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Dear Friends:
Very exciting news at the farm this week! WINK NEWS will be on location at the farm with a live feed beginning at 6:45 on Wednesday. If you tune in, you’ll get to see us preparing for your arrival at 10AM. Morning Reporter for WINK News This Morning, John Trierweiler, will be in The Barn with us kneading the focaccia for lunch, in the garden harvesting the produce, then off to feed the pigs, tend to the piglets, move the Longhorn cattle to fresh pasture, and opening the chickens to begin a brand new day, hunting, pecking and foraging.

Starting at 10AM, our favorite piano man, Dan Tudor, will be back at The Barn playing everyone’s favorite tunes. We think we’ll ask him to begin with the old Sinatra tune, “The Best Is Yet To Come.” Or, perhaps the Etta James song, “At Last”, because, well, what a journey it has been to get to this point.

We have depended on your support every step of the way and you have never let us down. Your kind words, notes of enthusiasm, your endorsement of the organic, holistic methods we use to raise your food on our “unfactory farm” mean the world to us. Thank you!!

See you Wednesday!
(We understand Wednesdays are hard for many of you. Please don’t give up on us – we will be hosting weekend events soon)!

Boston Butts and Picnic Hams

Get your 3-8 pound Bostons or Picnic Hams this week. Boston lives high on the pork shoulder and the Picnic lives low, but they are similar cuts. Find out more about them here. You couldn’t ask for an easier cut of meat. Most recipes require a little prep, then just set your oven or slow cooker on low and walk away. We love this glazed pork shoulder from Bon Appetit.

More Market Day Goodies

New this week – Rosy’s Paleo Salt, a delicious blend of pure Himalayan salt, and organic seasonings. Sprinkle it on meat and fish, on vegetables and eggs, in soups and stews, use as a meat rub, or in a salad dressing.
